Workplaces where an EWP licence is necessary or advantageous

An elevated working platform is quite simply any device used to support a platform on which workers, equipment and/or materials are elevated to perform work.

There are many different models and types of elevating work platforms including cranes, rigging and scaffolding equipment, as well as boom-type platforms.

In order to be compliant with Work Health and Safety (WHS) laws, anyone who operates plant and equipment such as an elevating work platform must be qualified to do so with an EWP licence.
EWP licences are not just for working in the resources and infrastructure Industries.

They are often called up for a number of roles including a labourer, electrician, roofer, sheetmetal worker, arborist, boilermaker, boom drive, and of course, building and civil construction workers.

An EWP license is even useful when you’re seeking work as a painter, sign or solar installer, or a window cleaner.

It goes without question that an EWP ticket is an extremely valuable certification to have when you’re seeking employment, and the training is easy and affordable.

Elevated Training specialises in elevated working platforms, which means you’ll get the best training to gain the competencies and the best preparation for safe operation during your new line of work.

To operate a scissor lift you can complete a quick one-day course for $300, or to operate any elevated work platform over 11 metres, join us for a three-day course for just $495.

From these courses you will obtain the skills and knowledge required to prepare to operate the platform, conduct work from the platform as well as carry out operator maintenance and the likes.

It is important that your new employer also provides you with reasonable training and appropriate instruction and supervision when starting out, even after you get your EWP licence, to ensure you are fully prepared for all of the situations which may arise in your specific workplace.
